Why Start-of-Year Clarity Matters for Leaders and Teams

Why Start-of-the-Year Clarity Is the Engine for Leadership Growth

You can’t underestimate start-of-the-year clarity. Even if things evolve unexpectedly throughout the year, starting with a clear vision is really the engine to your growth.

Last week I invited you to reflect on what you most want from this year – for you and for your team. With that in mind, it’s time to get that vision a bit closer to reality and outline the next part of your roadmap.

Turning Vision into Reality Starts with the Right Leadership Skills

For that clear vision to become a reality….what skills do you need?

Figuring this out next – rather than at the end of the year or when you’re hitting the first roadblocks – is a good plan.

You don’t need a long list that will see you go back to study full time. One or two well-chosen skills to focus on can really shift everything.

Key Leadership Skills That Can Shift Everything

Maybe it is things like:

  • Understanding how you work best, what your preferred behaviours are, how you’re likely to react in a situation, so you can navigate work situations with more ease?
  • Or is it honing those communication muscles for tricky conversations?
  • Or maybe managing difficult people and dealing with them in ways that don’t derail you or drain you and distract your focus from achieving your vision?

Any one of those can be that skill that shifts everything.

Choosing Your One Skill to Focus on This Year

But maybe you have something else in mind. Whatever it is, Contact Me and let me know. What is the first skill that you know you need to work on this year?

All good things,
