My daughter is finishing school in a month, and we’re moving back to town, back into our home.
Finding opportunities in everyday changes
So I’ve been thinking a lot about change—again—and harnessing its gifts.
Moves are not easy, but beyond the temporary disruption, they can bring opportunities and growth, particularly if we choose to focus on that, and plan for them. I can see that happening for me and my daughter already.
It reminds me how important it is to cultivate that sense of anticipation and growth that comes from looking ahead.
Encouraging Growth in the Workplace
With less than three months to the end of the year, it is the perfect time to do the same in your team. What will the next year bring for you and your team? How will you grow—individually and collectively? And how can you lead towards that growth?
We all crave growth and a sense of purpose. And one of the most valuable things we can do as leaders is let our teams into the ‘big picture’ vision for the future, to inspire and encourage them to think about the year ahead:
- How will they contribute?
- How will they stretch themselves?
- What skills will they build?
Growth doesn’t just happen—it’s something that we can actively foster in ourselves and in our teams. How can you help your team imagine the growth ahead, and create a sense of excitement around it?
All good things,

The other is a one-on-one session to help you untangle the knots and help you see the vision and the first steps you need to take towards it.
