With my change specialist hat on, I’ve been observing closely the recent referendum.
And I think, regardless of how you voted on the day, there are lessons on how to manage change that every business can take from the process.
As a leader, you have to deal with managing change at some point. That’s when you realise everyone has a different appetite for change. And managing it is not enough to make it successful. You need to influence it too and to bring people along with you.
Because most people are pretty happy with the status quo, it is our responsibility as leaders driving change in our organisations to ensure everyone can see what it means for them and to convince our teams that the change is worth the effort.
I wrote an article for Inside Small Business looking at the lessons we can take business leaders from the referendum.
I’d love to know your thoughts.
Enjoy!
